We refer to the Bank’s Advertisement dated 05th May 2017 in Marathi Newspaper Sakal, regarding recruitment of Trainee Peons in our Bank.

In this connection please note that the call letters for written examination for Trainee Peons have already been posted to eligible candidates which will be received by them within maximum 7 days. Those eligible candidates, who do not receive the same by 15th July 2017, may contact to our Head Office for issuing duplicate call letter thereof. For this purpose, candidate or their relatives have to come in person along with original photo ID to collect duplicate call letter, which may please be noted.

The written examination is scheduled on 30th July 2017 at

  - I.E.S Raja Shivaji Vidya Sankul, A Block, Hindu Colony, Dadar (E), Mumbai – 400 014.

We also reproduce the copy of instructions to candidate (Trainee Peons) vide this notification for early information to the candidates for the said examination.

Please, refer Sr. No.14, in the instruction sheet wherein typing mistake is occurred as BLACK is quoted as BLANK. Hence please treat the sentence as: Bring two BLACK ink ball pens with you:

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE (TRAINEE PEON)

  1. You are requested to go through these instructions carefully and understand the same properly.
  2. Please bring your call letter at the time of written examination, in original with your recent passport size photograph firmly pasted on it and signed across. Also keep ready your "PHOTO ID" for verification. Please get one Xerox copy of this Hall Ticket for your personal record & future reference.
  3. Candidates without call letter will not be permitted to appear for the written examination.
  4. Eligibility Criteria: Note that, even if you qualify in the written test or selected in the interview thereafter and subsequently it is found that you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the bank, your candidature/ appointment will be cancelled.
  5. This call letter does not constitute any employment offer.
  6. You should report at the test centre 30 minutes before the time of examination.
  7. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to their selection/recruitment shall be considered as DISQUALIFICATION.
  8. Combined time to solve this exam is 120 minutes (two hours).
  9. No candidate will be allowed to leave the test hall in first 30 minutes and last 10 minutes
  10. Use of calculator and mobile phones is not allowed. Candidates are requested not to bring Mobile Phones with them. Please note that if any candidate brings mobile phone, he/she has to keep it in front of the hall at his/ her own risk.
  11. If candidate is found either copying/ receiving/ giving assistance during the examination will be disqualified without giving any reasons thereof.
  12. Do not tear off/ open the Question Booklet unless you are asked to do so.
  13. Till then, write down Roll No. and other details on Question Booklet and Answer Sheet and put your signature till you are asked to open the Question Booklet. You can also read the instructions on the cover page.
  14. Bring two Black ink ball pens with you; this will be required for marking the answers in answer sheet.
  15. Do all your rough work in the test booklet itself. Don’t do any rough work on Answer Sheet.
  16. Objective test: The exam will consist of MULTIPLE CHOICE objective questions. Each question will be followed by four options for answer. Please note that only one of the options is correct or most appropriate. The subjects, number of questions and marks for each question is as mentioned below.

  18. The expected level of knowledge for English and Numerical/Reasoning is upto SSC standard. In General Awareness all the candidates are expected to have read daily newspaper.
  19. No negative marks for wrong answer.
  20. MULTIPLE CHOICE OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS are to be answered by marking the Answer in the separate “Answer Sheet” provided for the purpose.
  21. Please note that each question has got only one correct or most appropriate answer. Hence, mark only one answer, marking more answers will disqualify the answer and will not get any mark.
  22. For indicating the answer, darken the oval of answer number for example, the answer to Q.101 is (2), then it has to be shown as follows :

Mahanagar Bank Recruitment Exam Syllabus

We refer to the advertisement for recruitment of Trainee Clerk, Junior Driver, Trainee Peons in our Bank. Bank has received overwhelming response to the advertisement & receiving enquiries on phones regarding the pattern of Paper & books to be referred for study purposes. As such we give below the pattern of paper for written examination as under.

Study material Recommended / Suggested

1) Numerical Ability – The book named 'Quantitative Aptitude by Dr. R. S. Aggarwal (Section-1, Chapter 1 to 18) & /or any book on 'Bank's recruitment exam. For Clerks (fully solved).
2) Reasoning Ability – The books named 'A modern Approch to Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning' by Dr R. S. Aggarwal First 300 pages.
3) English Language – Books from std. 5th to 10th. anyhow the study upto std 10th done by the candidates will be useful.
4) Information Technology – Syllabus of MS CIT exam.
5) General Economic Awareness – Reading of News Papers enlightening economic development in particular In General aspiring candidates may also refer to the latest Magazine like 'Pratiyogita Darpan', 'Competition Success' etc. Bank do not take any responsibility or assurance regarding the success of the candidate in the examination since the ability to solve paper in shorter period depends on good ability in all respect of the candidate appearing for examination. Henceforth bank will not entertain any enquiry in this regards.
